It's part of why those songs take so much time for her when they're already written and have music accompanying the lyrics. She only has a rudimentary understanding of the language. You say your piece, she says hers. She wasn't happy, so if you actually care about her as much as much as you say, instead of continuing to berate her because of her responses and repeatedly doubling down on the exact thing causing a breakdown in communication, maybe try something different?
