Golden age was Myth + Councilyris before the Stars

Maybe after the graduations we have entered a silver age where everyone is at least friends with each other and all the drama is far behind. The quality of EN5 and Cover protecting the remaining Senpai so they don't leave are the key.

>Was there a "golden age"?
Yes, 2020 and 2021 were the golden age for HoloEN. They had the highest viewer numbers, unironically from lockdowns, but there was a general sense of optimism. 2022 was the decline of the EN branch and while unicorns blame Holostars the overall mood was already declining in the spring. The management fights with Sana were steadily getting worse until her graduation. The second half of 2022 was grim with many talents demoralized and Ina openly considering graduation. Their is a reason they refer to 2022 as the year of fake smiles. The early months of 2023 briefly had some optimism but the mood never recovered. The sudden graduations of Magni and Vesper meant the EN branch were still having major fights with management. 2024 was the start of the Hololive graduation wave and it's noticeable how many talents left to be indie vtubers. EN is currently in the silver age which should be more stable.

The silver age was from councilโ€™s debut to Vesper & Magni getting fired

The Bronze Age is from the feminization of Mori and Kronii to the debut of Justice

We entered the Triangle age with the graduation of Ame

Honestly this. There was so much hope and optimism during this time. The homos had fallen into irrelevance, HoloEN had some new fresh faces and everyone seemed to be having a good time. Then Ame left and it was all downhill from there. I hope they find some new girls to inject some life into the branch.

The unicorns on /vt/ are horrible at figuring out what contract fights go on in Hololive because of their seething hate towards Holostars. They want to blame male vtubers for the malicious compliance when model redesign fights are the obvious explanation. Yagoo might love unity but he doesn't force it or Gura would have been joining HoloPro collabs instead of shilling merch.

We are in the age of plastic, where everything is so fucking artificial and manufactured. But everything is cheaper and there is more of it, so more people can afford the product, including young and new blood who have no idea what quality really is but don't care because they are only interested in consuming, so they're happy about it

Creatively speaking COVER has been in the dark ages for around 3 years already.
They got too popular for their own good, so they stopped trying seriously, the company put on them a lot more leashes, they pumped up the merch and publicity machine (there are many people here than still claps when their already rich oshi gets to shill another popular brand) and the talent dedicate more time on what they can sell and other personal things rather than streaming time and good ideas for projects.
Like a vast majority of their group events and interactions are rehashes and copies of whatever they saw popular in another place. A majority of the talent streams less than 20 hours per week. None of the newer gens (both in JP and EN) seem to have made any new star in many years, they have to rely in lots of leeching and the fact that a cactus in hololive would still get 3k viewers.
Other than GG and CC doing some weird stuff every now and then (which, as part of EN they have their own set of problems and neither are really that popular) the rest are pretty comfortable.
But i mean, they're doing pretty damn well economically. That will keep the ship running until a couple of the bigger talents decide to graduate.

Unironically Myth and shortly after CouncilRyS.

The Homo arc and attempt at Nijisanjification almost destroyed the entire branch. Advent debuting basically saved the branch. And Justice was a good addition.
But it never reached that peak success level again. Itโ€™s in a good place now, but that was the peak.

>>103886296
I'd say it's something around this as well. It's not a question of holostars destroying this, or EN destroying that, or whatever sort of semi-specific things you want to point to, it's just a general company-wide lack of anything really wowing that doesn't leave enough space for its talents to really do fun stuff that has been coasting on its own momentum for years now.
There are individual hololive vtubers I like, actually a fair number of them, but I can't say I have much goodwill or expectation from the brand overall anymore

Yeah, the issues with China + the Holocaust was pretty rough. There was a lot of fun in there still though with everyone streaming massive hours because of being stuck at home.

I think one of Cover's biggest problems is they won't just drop the retarded tech company angle.
No one really wants Holo Earth. It's a money sink.Their in-house vtuber app sucks. They're stuck with a set of riggers who they have strong relationships with rather than merit.
It's a really bad look when the biggest vtuber company in the world that isn't putting organs in the money grinder has talents that would fit in with indies from late 2022.

While on her PL account doing commissions and tweeting everyday.
And she took a spot someone else who actually wanted to be there could have had.

And people in chat have spammed more crying emojis for Sana alone than for Gura, Mumei, Fauna, and Ame combined. Bunch of virtue signaling weirdos.
