There is a finite addressable market of interested fans, and while it grows, you still capture marketshare at the expense of your competitors. Someone who has a HoloEN oshi is unlikely to be a real fan of a different girl.
Now, does that mean that a 3view fan should be mad at Hololive, or that Hololive fans should consider that 3view an enemy? No, of course not. This competition is for business suits (and number nerds) to worry about, not fans. But "vtuber unity" is not and cannot be a real thing in a business realpolitik sense.
