some people dont care, either will watch the game cause its interesting without intending to play it. or dont care about spoiling themselves. pretty sure hollow knight was a game she had on the back burner away and with silksong coming out gave her an excuse to play it. i think its fine to go for day one hype. I dont think she is trying to speedrun silksong so I think streams may be a bit more spread out, or be the weekend game.

why are pre orders bad? isnt it usually just wanting to avoid pump and dump like scams / unfinished games? I feel like most of that should be on the purchaser looking into if the game is worth at all, usually isnt too hard to tell. I feel pre purchasing to avoid server slams like this, and pre loading for people with not the best internet are more positive aspects.

The problem with Preorders is that they incentivize developers to churn out unfinished games. When they've got the money in hand up front, the development time from there is basically wasted. So there's an incentive to just cut development short and cut your costs.

This is probably moreso the case for AAA developers than for a passionate indie team that spends 8 years making a $20 game, so it probably wouldve been smart to let people pre-purchase and download a few days in advanced

seems to be going good. there seems to be a lot of bosses / challenges compared to Hollow Knight.
