>Seeing Stars
Certified banger that could be on a persona soundtrack. Vocally Lotus and Mori compliment each other well. Lyrically it does well to speak to the songs intended themes. Specifically:

>Find something you can move toward

The chorus manages perfectly to encapsulate what the song is about in basically 3 lines with less than a dozen words.
>Sepia
This one is probably the odd ball for the year. I like it a lot, but it also feels more "retro" for this point in her career. Had this come out around the time of Your Mori, I don't think anyone would have blinked.
The biggest fault of the song I think is Toobee and Mori have very similar voices so the part where it features another artist doesn't really stand out. If Mori did her own backing track (in place of Toobee) no one would have ever guessed this was a collaboration between two artists.
> Die For You
This is an amazing track which shows Mori moving forward again and adapting her style into a new genre while still maintaining her personally identity. Even knowing that the song belongs to a drama, it still feels like Mori is talking to the audience again. Just giving us another glimpse into her soul, almost identically to what we got in "glass slipper."
> Tsumi to Mitsu
While not being a Mori song specifically, she really does sell her part super well and again I think we're getting another glimpse into her id and the basic desires she has to latch onto things we love. As Deadbeats we've come to understand how Mori is with things she cares about. Both physical items as well as people. This song just explores that persona as it's exemplified to the extreme. Also the guitar part is sick.
> Nekkyo
While mostly being a Fake Type song, this is another throwback to a more classic Mori. It really feels like Off With Their Heads during her limited parts. You can feel like she's staring you down and demanding you meet her gaze. Imposing and powerful are definitely the emotional descriptors.
> Over//Ride
I don't have a lot to say about this song, it's for a game and has that anime OP style to it. Definitely solid for what the composer was aiming for. Her and Nerissa killed it in their performance and I hope that we get an original featuring the both of them at some point.
> Queen of the Night
I feel bad at times, because I feel like this is the most forgettable song of the year but then I hear her sing with Towa and I can feel my hear just beat a little bit faster. Another instance where I think she does a really solid job at delivering an emotional performance, I just don't think Steph & Berry Risa really played to either Towa or Mori's strengths.
Just going off what Towa has done, you're competing against FACT and Palette. It's almost like a street racer trying to compete in the hypercar leagues.
I also don't think that the dancing / club vibe of the song fits either one of these queens. Given them some real percussion to back their vocals and heavy guitar rifts to stand in opposition to the delivery.
> Light
KAF is honestly a great compliment to Mori. The two feel like the same person yelling at you in this song, but with KAF you're hearing the actual voice while Mori is the internal monologue.
While I know I just said that Mori should get some real percussion to back up her vocals, I think the DNB track here really works well for the two of them since they make it sound rhythmic, almost like a hearbeat. Thus amplifying the direction of the song and helping to drive the message more.
It's honestly been a decent year for music. Even if she doesn't drop an EP or Album like we're all expecting. The back catalogue is still there and Phantomime released just over a year ago, so it's still relatively new in the grand scheme of things.
