Unsure if the anon from the other day regarding the conversation about fitting a voice to a face is here, but I've settled on a character after much consternation.
I've still been uploading content/streaming regularly on my regular YT/Twitch channels, but I think I'm ready to take the plunge and give this VTubing thing a go.
I do have a couple concerns, though.

I'm unsure if I can juggle both my main channel and the VTubing gig, and don't know if I should put the former on pause for now so I can focus on my side gig. But then that comes with its own problems—I'd be kind of stifling the momentum I've built for a gig that has a very low chance of taking off, let alone gaining any viewers whatsoever.
I do wanna give it a proper go, but consistency is important in content creation, which makes me tentative about the whole thing.

I just remember some saying from some YouTuber a long time ago, success on Youtube (and Twitch) is usually sudden and luck based. Consistency only increases your chances of getting lucky rather than slowly burning your way up the algorithm ladder.

Jokes aside, I'll probably use my VTuber persona to do things that I normally wouldn't try on my main.
Playing games outside of my usual comfort zone would be a start, perhaps. Part of my current viewership came from my proficiency in a certain genre of game or two, though. So maybe it wouldn't make sense to "branch out", so to speak.
On the other hand, doing what I normally already do as a fleshtuber (I'm picking up on the lingo) seems a little dull.

Otherwise just make a fugitech account and upload a pngtuber there,you and the person you're collabing with can make a browser source and display on either stream. it's less resource intensive than the l2d model way. There's also vdo ninja but you'd need to look into how that one works.

Aspiring ish? been streaming for around 8 months, maxed I got was 77 ppl watching but got raided, I don't average a lot. I would recommend to try and start a discord pretty much as soon as you have a couple of regular chatters.

I feel like community is everything, even more than collab, raids etc.. it's the chatters that will always be there that make you grow

People love to shit on parasocialism because they have no idea what the word actually means and the word has been politicised but without parasocialism, vtubing and all sorts of streaming/youtube content would just become about raw numbers and surface level content where each vtuber is just as interchangeable as the next one. You just watch whoever is playing the game you like since they're all the same. Parasocialism is someone's willingness to watch you and participate in your community even when your surface level content isn't something they want because they personally like YOU specifically. People who do not have any parasocial fans end up pigeonholed into certain games. I saw one guy, 3 view vtuber, all he does, every single day is Genshin and only Genshin for hours. You could see he tried to stream other things, branch out, but those streams all cratered in viewership because nobody cared about watching HIM specifically and only cared about Genshin. Removing parasocialism also shifts the advantage upwards towards rich people, since if the only thing that matters is surface level content where production value is king, the rich people will always have better production value and so the audience continues to skew in their favour even harder than it does now. Smaller and poorer vtubers can compete with bigger channels because they offer more intimate environments and more opportunities for genuinely personal interaction. The vtuber will learn your name and remember things about you which is something big streamers just cannot do.

I wanted to try content creation since old pokemon smosh song but never had the courage and executive function to do it.
Kizuna ai went viral a second time and i thought, that's it, "an old man voice from a cute anime girl would play in the common trophy of people saying you don't know who lies behind" it was supposed to be a dirty old man, but over time lewd became cringe again, and I also didn't find the idea funny anymore.
I followed the creation of vt and later the aspiring threads from time to time, rarely posted encouraging people till I thought, "I gotta do it now or never"
I did fall in endless traps of brainrot and stuff, so i debuted last year despite me having everything ready 1 to 2 years further behind. (the model only one year but the things were conceptually there so I could have png'd)

I try to communicate with others, see if there's something we can achieve, and at the same time, I try to bridge people together, if the people around me do good I will do good too, and If I do good I can help others too.
I also try to learn from people doing better than me due to seniority or skills and see what I can learn.
Check data for reach times and content, i allow myself some slow streams from time to time to play things I want to too.
Try to be "a normal user" on social media but the adhd+tism makes it hard lol.

This is hard. For me everyone is a friend by default.
It's a weird behavior, but I refuse to live thinking people want to hurt me all the time. It requires a bit of a tough skin.
I just straight up chat with people a bit, minding boundaries, consent, respect and distance. Remember those are important. People have their basket full, never expect they spend their day thinking about you, same way you don't for some. The brain can keep track of few peeps.
So my extra tip is don't get offended if things don't click or you don't get an answer, things need time to grow and this current climate of "fake people" has everyone in a defensive shell and rightfully so.
