Counting how a viewer is calculated. When a streamer/vtuber ends their stream the post summary on youtube is the accurate number and it doesn't always reflect the active CCV during the stream.

They have very likely changed what they consider a viewer -- and it is only getting harder to prove there is a person on the other end. It may be that they switch to only counting verified accounts as viewers and everyone else as potential bots, because advertisers are getting very tired of serving content to nobody

Time to start doing polls again to figure out how many people are actually watching you.

The only people I see having problems with this are larger chuubas and youtubers that actually have an audience/growth. My barely 3-view oshi has seen 0 change in ccv and that goes for a lot of the smaller channels I watch too. I think these tards just don't understand how bad botting was on YouTube and are thinking that YouTube is actually culling "real" views. Not to say their fans were viewbotting them, but it sucks to see regardless.

there's some restricted setting that automatically gets turned on for a lot of people which for whatever reason hides like half the vods basically any channel puts out based on guessing about the viewer's age. like age verification part 2 only many people don't even realize it was turned on. you can turn it off manually and by default it was supposed to be off, but for a lot of people YT switch it on by itself.

so for random casuals I think this means they won't even know a stream was happening in the first place if they weren't checking some tracker site or somewhere actively discussing it to know it was even live.

As others have said, it's probably because Adblocker users no longer count, because everyone is trying to fight Adblocker now since the internet is nearly unusable without it.

YouTube (and maybe Twitch too, if applicable,) will probably start pressuring content creators through the Rep Vine to both ask people to stop using Adblockers, and to start using the streaming service's own agents to line up sponsor deals, which will (conveniently) have a more "accurate" way of establishing viewer numbers.

I definitely believe that a portion of the live viewers are not being counted. Whether that would be anyone using adblocker on YouTube, or anyone not signed into an account, remains to be seen. But there's definitely been some fuckery since the AI age-restriction feature was added as the poll votes, live chat and stream likes do not correlate with the number that is shown live.

CCV is lower because there's less people watching. Period. The reason why there's less people watching can be discussed, but there's no "CCV cull" there's just less people thinking you're worth the trouble.
