Yeah. If you're still unfamiliar with your software, I'd suggest starting with shorter content. Shorts, in general, are not a bad idea at all, considering that's how you can put yourself out there more easily. Then, once you have a bigger video out, you can take a tidbit out of it, put it put as a short, and link from the short to your long-form. Tasting History works well like that.
Otherwise, try coming up with a series of shorts related to the game you're passionate about, maybe?
If you start with a huge project right away while not having the basics down, you'll risk being discouraged quite easily. Though that may be projection on my part.

If you're learning to edit just now, try to get a short video up, something in the range of 5 minutes or so. That way you won't need to compromise a lot of your time into getting it out and you'll learn some editing tricks accumulatively.
Copy that same timeline into a new project, adapt it to a vertical resolution, add some subtitles to a small part of 30 seconds to 1 minute and you have yourself a video and a shorts ready for deployment.

Of course, you're gonna have to learn for like 2 weeks on how to do all of that for only 5 minutes of something that might not even get more than 5 views, but I started like that and now my views are over 10k, so you only have to keep going at it, maybe carve a niche for yourself if you can, and keep improving whenever you can so every new video ooks and sounds better than your last one.
That's the real trick to success, perseverance.

Nah, you're quite right on that part. If you try to go for a big ass video as your first project, you'll soon learn it's a SHITLOAD of work. Between learning what to cut, how to build a script or a narrative around it, how to do basic editing, how to do advanced editing because you want it to be flashy and cool like the ones you watch with millions of views and pro editors doing them...

You'll quickly feel like shit if you can't do what you envision in your head, so a smaller project will also help you avoid that.
