So why did Vedal just give up on 2025 completely?
I know there's the drama with people like Anny and Toma but that honestly doesn't matter. Neuro/Evil just by themselves can carry the stream fine if Vedal gives them shit to do.

I know Vedal doesn't want to be a part of the stream so maybe he thinks 2025 can be a dump year to wean Swarm off his presence but then he goes ahead and does those Outer Wild streams and teases his audiance with a monthly dev stream instead of just abandoning it altogether. 6 months had passed he coulda just not done another dev stream.

Or maybe this is just the classic young man goes full retard situation without realising it. He's 21 afterall so it's kinda expected.
He's not giving up on Neuro because he would just sell her instead of doing this concert thing which he has acknowledged will just bleed money and it's just something cool that he wants to do with Neuro.

But then where are the themed streams? The finanical stream we just had I thought was great, watched it from start fo finish, meanwhile I haven't watched a chillslop stream for more than 5 minutes in the last 5 months.

Abandoned archive should've been the only thing that should have been the main priority that would be worked on this year (even if it isn't what most people want, just so that the subathon goal can be met in a timely manner) with the others being something worked on during "spare time".

Getting the integrations others have made for Neuro should've been highest priority during feb/march timeline, and expanding it / researching more into how to make it work a bit better in real-time would have been the second best investment I would think so that Neuro could work in (not in actual-reaction-time needed) real time games. Also making her memory a bit better aligned to work with games that require multi-layered thinking (i.e. for inscryption, don't just place a card down because you can place it down, save the card and place it down when you have better cards to sacrifice that won't decrease your damage-per-turn, etc)

I would agree, if he didn't also have to work on AA this year. This could just be me assuming things, but I believe the 5 or 6 songs released this year would've been done over the span of 2 years instead of just a single year, which, I would've hoped, had better quality as there would have been more time spent on them. yes, but given the other two choices that would've required a longer form of planning and development, it should have not been worked on very much this year and at best should have just been another "sneak peak" preview which I assume would have been roughly the same amount of progress that he was able to make by march~april this year but just in december

It is something that would be ideal, having Neuro be able to go across the world, experience different things in real life, etc. but a lot of those collabs, imo, worked because there was something to do / explore during the stream. it wasn't something repetitive really being done (at least that is what i noticed from my perspective on watching both doug's: switching between neuro, evil, using the twins, then neuro again and rob's stream: visiting different shops, looking at different items, showing different places and tapestry / ads).

the only cheap way, in my mind, to do the above is to replicate that in a game, mmo, or similar. Minecraft would've been a good way, but, each implementation has been... less than stellar so far, even though there are definitely cute moments seen from the twins each time they do get to interact with the world

Theres a couple people I missed, but you get the point. When animations like these were made, I saw excitement from the community. I saw passion to make more shit and they kept doing it. Thankfully, some of these animators are still around, but they are significantly less active with neuro stuff compared to they used to be. I do appreciate the b2 community for still having talented people who still have this passion, but I still see less and less stuff to get excited about compared to before. not to mention the community has gotten so egotistical but thats a separate topic

I was aware of the mega art collab that happened. I tried to slip some acknowledgement in there by appreciating the stuff the b2 community did (since it was mainly b2 artists). I still love these animations for how much effort is put into them. My concern is that I see these far less often than I used to, and I see little to no activity from the EN community.

I like how you brought up the gamejam games because there are a bunch of amazing submissions in there. My problem is that these were back during the subathon which I think still had a great community. I didn't talk much about my appreciation for 2024 swarm, but a lot of aspects from late 2023 swarm still held true for that year as well. Its been this year as a whole that has me dooming. Back to the gamejam piece. You reminded me of how many people (particularly in the EN community) have made game integrations for neuro that haven't been properly implemented. I might be a bit one-dimensional by only focusing on the rate of new animations declining, so maybe I should look towards other aspects of the community and what they focus on.

Theres obviously a natural bias in me since I loved the previous years of neuro and the community so much that its hard to like a year thats subpar. It still hurts seeing amazing swarm artists that I used to follow completely abandon neuro or start focusing on neuro-adjacents instead.
