Use Firefox, hit alt, click View > Repair Text Encoding. Chrome removed the ability to do this, but extensions can do it. Alternatively you can also use https://www.linestarve.com/tools/mojibake/ to fix them (copy the broken chars and paste them into the text field), but you have to do each one separately.

I don't think there's a way to use a single bat file to record multiple users, so you'll have to make different files for every user. Mine is just:

><twclazer command here, check the readme for a basic usage example, don't forget to add cookies>
>timeout /t 10 #number of seconds to wait before continuing
>goto loop #loops back above

I needed to change something else in the files to get it to work but I forget what, so if you get an error just ask here and one of the more experienced users can probably help you

It is possible to use avtdl to automatically run twclazer. There is an example of using yt-dlp (https://github.com/15532th/avtdl/blob/master/EXAMPLES.md#download-twitcasting-streams-using-yt-dlp), which only requires replacing "yt-dlp --cookies cookies.txt -f 220k/best {url}" with the command used to run twclazer, something like "python /path/to/TwcLazer.py --cookies cookies.txt -u {user_id}"

So avtdl can also run multiple instances. I’m already using avtdl for recording withny, and I find combining it with a TwitCasting config a bit tricky.

Yes, it is possible to copy avtdl executable into a separate directory, add different config, cookies and anything else it needs and run it as a separate instance. The only caveat is it requires configuring different ports for each instances.

Before starting the second instance, open http://localhost:8080, in the "settings" section find the "port" field, increment the value and click "Apply Changes" in the bottom right. After that the existing instance will be using localhost:8081 and you can start a new one, which is going to be accessible on localhost:8080

Same, I changed my dns to cloudflare's and that seemed to improve it a little. Twclazer connection still kept dropping often but the recording itself seems fine, so hopefully it'll fix itself later. Glad to know it's not just on my end atleast

Well, https://asmrtistcatalog.ca has finally reached 10000 channels indexed, with a bit over 1,750,000 searchable videos. Might manage to hit 2,000,000 by the end of the year depending on how many more channels I can scrounge up.

That sounds like Search Alerts, which lets you save searches for later as well be told whenever there's new results in the search.

Language filters are already a thing, you can just put whatever language you want in the search. If you want to be really pedantic then you can use ChannelLanguages:Japanese to prevent matching titles/descriptions/tags that happen to contain "Japanese" (or whatever language you happen to be looking for).

I'll think about this. It's certainly doable but I'm not sure the best way to add it from a UX point of view.

twclazer merged fix for the most recent change to the main branch.
There is also a change in the way it handles mid-stream reconnect: now it starts a new file, similarly to what fc2_live_dl does, requiring merging them manually after the stream. Would appreciate any feedback if someone has a moment to update and gets unlucky enough to encounter interruptions.

Sadly methods twitcasting is using to stream does not allow to retrieve any chunk of video past a couple of seconds after it was live (they added separate DVR format recently, but it is paid perk and no tool currently supports it as far as I know). It means when connection gets interrupted, everything that went past by the time it took to reconnect is unrecoverable for client.
Appending new chunks to existing file after an interruption creates discontinuity in timestamps, causing issues with players displaying incorrect timing and breaking seeking. It also kind of hides the fact that recording is incomplete, as a file with dozen of gaps looks the same as uninterrupted recording.

Oh, you were asking about withny.
It has two login cookies, one to allow login itself, set to expire in 24 hours, and another, allowing to refresh the first one and for some reason itself. avtdl handles the refresh procedure, but it only happens prior to download, so as long as it archives at least one stream a month cookies should not expire.

However, unlike Youtube or any normal site, they have no concept of multiple login sessions, so logging in in a browser will result in new cookie being generated and the old one (exported to text file) invalidated. What worse, if the site is visited in a browser after 24 hours passed since last login, javascript on the page will perform the refresh procedure in order to stay logged in, which again will result in all older cookies invalidation. So, specifically for withny, solution is to create dedicated account, log in in private window and export cookies, close browser without logging out, and (unlike Youtube) never use that account to log in in a browser.

Everything looks correct, I can only suggest possibility of a small silly mistake, like forgetting to save the file, not stopping avtdl before editing it, or accidentally pasting wrong cookies from the clipboard.
As a way to check the cookies in the file are fresh, you can take the numbers after "auth._token_expiration.local" and "auth._refresh_token_expiration.local" and put them into whatever comes up for "unix timestamp converter" in search. It should be one day and one month in the future.

I’m using an add-on to export the cookies and following the steps as instructed, but the cause is unknown.

I can at least help with this one. Since you reinstalled it (which means creating config from scratch, I assume), the port number also got reset. When avtdl is started, it prints something like "[webui] server is running on http://localhost:8080" in console. Open that link instead of existing browser tab and it should work.
