Minor lore update: Femhoomans don't have tits. Weighing thoughts on whether or not to give them chest feathers (fuzz-esque down, not fully developed flight feathers) on their chests instead. Open to arguments for and against this. Won't be able to respond to arguments and opinions for a while, but I am interested in seeing what the rest of the thread has to say. This update is somewhat relevant to a piece of /who/ lore I have planned, but likely not what you're thinking it is.

So the library gets its power from books. The question is does the library also get power from other mediums such as artwork, film, etc.?

Yeah, I'm thinking the library gets its power from the information is stores, rather than a specific medium. So even a statue adds to its mana, as long as it has some meaning.

Archive under /vtwbg/.

An update on Loreli's seismic activity.

The isle was once thought to be a natural volcano. That the archives were built with geothermal energy to power air-conditioning for optimal document storage. Many questions to this theory. During the time of the island's creation we have found that the masonry is much older than the oldest stone of the island. This means that the library is actually older than the volcano that erupted here. Another hypothesis is that the volcanic eruption did not come from the earth's mantle but instead the library itself. That hypothesis has too many leaps in logic in the current foundings of the geology. So it's shelved for now.

Still with every record we preserve in the library the seismic activity grows stronger. There's talks about the library having a mysterious magic power. Could it be related to the seismic activity? We do not know. It's best to study what we can and be prepared to preserve records if another eruption is possible.

I have an idea on where Loreli's volcano came from. Instead of coming from the mantle of the planet the eruption might have come from the library itself? Why did the library erupt in the middle of the ocean? Perhaps it was the best way to keep itself from sinking into the depths. Regardless of where the volcano erupted the library now has an island to support a small settlement.
Anonymous No.104690219 >>104690537
>>104687794
>>104689697
Maybe if the library being installed was a... violent event, it could induce some volcanic activity. This is something meteors have been known to do, they basically cause pressure points in the mantle to release and cause volcanism.
Anonymous No.104690537
>>104690219
It could be an instance of both the library core and the impact in the mantle causing two eruptions at once. Which is how the Isle has its unusual unnatural appearance.
Anonymous No.104692292
Now that I think about it a lot of shield volcanoes are made from meteorites piercing the mantle.

OK YOU FUCKERS DND UPDATE AND OH BOY WAS IT A GOOD ONE TONIGHT!
>they are still fighting the weird acid spitting wolves
>i tell both the rogues that sneak attack is a thing and they finally start doing it
>i tell the sorcerer that using spell slots is a good thing and he suddenly is shocked about how much more damage his higher level spells do
>THE ASSASSIN IS DEAD I REPEAT GRIMM THE ASSASIN, PLAYED BY THE GUY THAT ACTUALLY KNOWS WHAT HE IS DOING IS THE FIRST PLAYER DEATH OF THE GAME OH FUCKING SHIT!
>They eventually kill the wolves and back at the village collect their rewards, buy random shit, and introduce his new character who is a paladin noble from /mep/
>They all go to the capitol and tell people "yeah the insurgents are right over here oh and we burned down an outpost"
>WELL GOOD JOB LADS HERE ARE SOME HANDY SPELL SCROLLS
>they then decide to go back to risu (mainly since the girl never got to experience it) and the funny ensured
>she genuinely look shocked but also was laughing at the silliness of risu, including the geese pits and the idea of a people with fluffy tails so it was nice to see her look so happy
We kind of ended it there and it was going nice when the rogue did the thing.....
"Oh hey by the way do you have a discord?"
To be fair this is supposed to be a thing where socially awkward people can play together so them talking is kind of the whole point but at the same time the only thing I could think of in my mind is "BACK OFF MOTHERFUCKER HER ASS IS MINE".

My penis aside, I do think I will be inching them towards /vnug/ but will tell them about awat and the advancements of /who/ since their last visit.

Concerning Hoomans - Anatomy and Attire
Hoomans are a humanoid race with numerous owl features. The most prominent of these is their heads, being similar to that of owls to the point of their ears being situated at different elevations. They also have short tails, though these are hidden under the cloaks they wear almost every time they are in public. Another noticeable distinction Hoomans have is the presence of feathers rather than hair or fur. This takes the form of down or "fuzz" rather than the plumage one thinks of when hearing the word "feather", though the head and tail bear feathers reminiscent of those allowing for flight in exception to this.
There are some minor similarities to owls as well, including a greater-than-average neck-turning radius and particularly long legs compared to other humanoids.
The longer legs lend to Hoomans on average being taller than other races, though the strain on them leads to joint pains among other difficulties. As a result, it is quite common to see aging Hoomans bracing against objects or relying on a cane to reduce the burden on their legs. A few unfortunate souls even have to rely on wheelchairs. These wheelchair-bound Hoomans are often accompanied by a Bubon Toehound to keep them company when the youth are with their parents.
Female Hoomans (hereafter referred to as Femhoomans) lack breasts, as they do not nurse their young. It is perhaps worth noting that they have down on their chests, and Femhoomans take care in properly grooming their chest fuzz to provide premium snuggling experiences.
Hoomans are rarely seen in public wearing anything other than a hooded cloak. The cloaks worn by Hoomans have their own differences between each other, but many elements are shared between them all.
In spite of their avian characteristics, Hoomans lack wings. Instead, the edges of their cloaks' sleeves are patterned in design and/or shape to give the impression they are wings. The sleeves are therefore long enough to extend at least as far as the wrist if not longer and are overall rather wide. Likewise, the cloaks themselves extend almost to the ankles.
Most cloaks are some shade of brown, though black or white cloaks are not unheard of in certain regions of /who/.
Every Hooman who has proven themself to be a respectful and responsible member of society is bestowed two feathers: One is from the parents, the other by the grandparent who oversaw their education. These feathers are from local owl species. Though typically fastened or pinned to the hood of their cloak, the feathers can acceptably be applied to anywhere within near proximity of the head. Therefore, it is acceptable for a Hooman to have feathers in a hairband, on a necklace, or on any other accessory, as long as that accessory is worn at all times in public.
Any Hooman elected to the position of Ave or Skal is bestowed an object that allows for them to be identified from a distance, such as a unique helmet or a handheld trinket of some kind. If the object is to be worn, they are expected to wear it whenever executing their duties as Ave/Skal.

Was planning to make a big lore dump about the mundane aspects of Hooman life, but I got writer's block when I tried approaching it as one big thing so I'm breaking it down by category and taking it piecemeal. I'll post any future additions to the rentry itt but not anchor it, as it will already be added to a pre-existing rentry that was already anchored. Open to feedback on what was written as well as any requests to cover a particular topic outlined within the rentry. If there aren't any requests, I'll likely go into household composition and Hooman education next.

Nice to see the players put their features to use!
Sad to see Grimm go, but if deaths have to happen it's better for the first one to happen to the vet's character since rolling up a new one is simpler, and it shows the newbies you're willing to let people die without them getting traumatized by it happening to them.
