Up until 2021 (more or less) Cover had only one 3D studio. But in that period (up until Bloom) 3D lives were pretty rare so Coco could even pop up and do some shitposting impromptu.
After Bloom, instead of only the music focused ones (Sora, Suisei), every JP girl started doing 3D lives for both birthday and anniversary. The studio started to get more clogged but, as the kaigai girls didn’t have their 3D yet, it was manageable.
In that timeframe Cover started using INNK’s studio as well, one that was much better but, according to Aqua, all the way in the boonies making it not practical because of the hassle of having to ferry so many of the girls there for recordings.
Then in 2022 the kaigai girls started getting their 3Ds, demand for studio time started surpassing capacity and Cover ended up
1) having to “ration” studio time, limiting event streams to one per girl per year
2) having to sell 1.4% of their stocks in the open market to build a new studio
That didn’t immediately solve the problem so in the meantime some of the girls, with no studio availability, had to resort to external studios (from other companies) with varying quality.
One of those lives (Okayu’s) in the past external studio was so bad Aki (which would likely have hers recorded in the same studio) cancelled and postponed.

As the new studio was built there was a period where they were still staffing it and getting the hang of the new equipment (several of the early lives had audio issues) but right now they seem to both have gotten the hang of it and to have made good use of the self 3D booths for less demanding forms of 3D live so the main studio seems less busy now.
