She is not as gifted as korone or pekora and is only where she is because she makes you want to root for her.
For example, If you compare the gameplay streams between her, pekora and korone - korone is naturally weird/funny, pekora is good at keeping the energy up and is naturally talented at streaming.
But miko is consciously putting in extra effort to focus on making the stream interesting (sometimes unsuccessfully)
But once you get to know her and realize how she thinks and how insecure she is you naturally want her to keep having fun and do well.

I think as long as miko has friends looking out for her in hololive, she will keep doing great. She's absolutely come a long way just by hard work, and she can keep doing well.

I'd say the reason a lot of people flock to her is that she's the vtuber with the most substance. Sakura Miko feels like a real person as opposed to a character being piloted by a human or a human with a chuuba avatar.

Exactly, you can tell how close she is to her fanbase. I think only Watame and Watamates are comparable, but Watamates barely lose out because they aren’t proactive enough supporting their oshii in ways outside of being there for her on stream, while 35p tend to go the extra mile to please Migo (fireworks festival, making animated clips, top tier banter with miko as fanbase.)
Watamates are in the top tier of closeness to their oshI, no doubt, but 35p are the top because of how they are not only dedicated. But elevate her content as well.
