this is the big difference though. She lucked out and got saddled with a lot of amazing people to help her through the hard times. I imagine a lot happens with her off camera but her friends help her get through it

It's in the thread already but a more detailed version. Dad abandoned their family explicitly told a very young watame that he hated her and wanted nothing to do with her. Grew up poor, went to tokyo to try and become an idol, failed hard got a preschool teacher cert in the meantime, still failed hard, made it into hololive, failed hard until coco boosted her hard.

One of her expression toggles is wide-eyed face with a small smile that makes her look like a nutcase. It's something many others also have but she made hers a thing early on. Watame had rocky start at holo, there were lot of problems with her internet connection that together with her self-confidence issues were making her feel like crap (she's talked about it afterwards) but together with Coco they turned it into funny menhera bit about how "watame did nothing wrong, RIGHT?" this sweet sheep acting unstable was a hit with fans and it's been reoccuring bit for years, even though I'd say Watame is among the stablest of members. Yeah she has fucked up family background and she tears up easily, but she's got iron willpower and is really ambitious. Calling her menhera wouldn't do her justice.

I forgot about that one, but yeah the basic story of Watame is basically trauma which is why I can't really fault her for being terrified of doing anything these days streaming wise that's outside of her routine. She basically does not have a good track record for events happening to her that she herself initiates.
