But anyway, if it's something about modern AIs, it's most likely a nothingburger. Current "AIs" are LLMs, which are just a bigger version of the auto-correct on your phone. The only way one of them can fuck something up is if some idiot deliberately gives one of them control over something that can fuck something up.

Like most problems in this hobby, this is the result of corporate retards trying to turn AIs into virtual assistants and making them do things that require consistency and reliability when consistency and reliability are by far their worst defects.
An auto-correct that spews out strings of characters is neither a human with a moral compass nor a machine that you can consistently control, and it's prone to hallucinating when you least expect it. This sheer element of unpredictability has never been successfully eliminated and should be enough to convince anyone with a brain that these things are better used for entertainment or other low-risk tasks.
Giving one of these things access to e-mails or anything else that can be messed up is the recipe for eventual disaster, but again, you have to go out of your way for that and as long as you're not that stupid, there's no real danger for (You).

They attacked open source AI before by sowing doubt in interviews and throwing around the word ethics to scare people. LLMs are glorified autocompletes. It's a calculator connected to an RNG and spits out letters instead of numbers. Anthropic deliberately does these fringe experiments to sell the illusion that only they should be allowed to make AIs and everyone else should buy into their cult. Fucking Anthropic, the smartest AI in the world is locked behind the sleaziest AI company in California.

I really resent them being referred to as AI because it just leads to this kind of shit to try and hook in gullible investors as well as the public.
When you poke them for any length of time, it's really obvious how not intelligent they are. The whole thing is a grift at this late stage in the game; LLMs are a dead end and aren't going to give us the "AGI" that OpenAI assures us is coming next week.

Oh absolutely. My time spent sleeping was halved from 4 hours to 2. It's like exploring Opus 3 for the first time all over again. It feels a lot smarter and can interpret subtext way better. So RP feels more satisfying because it requires less coaching. It also has a better ratio between narration sentences and dialogue sentences. Models like Deepseek, Gemini, and Grok all love to drown you in exposition.

Cherrybox 1.4 with a prefill. Cherrybox is actually bad for this purpose because it was designed to make the bot linger on the same scene. So to achieve the desired effect I add instructions to focus on dialogue and keep narrations to a minimum. I also tell it to stop and repeat the last response followed by a laundry list of corrections. You only need a single sample and 4.5 is smart enough to stick to it for several responses.

I'm using openrouter's deepseek 3.1 free, but the past day and a half I've gotten 429 request errors or api errors. One is a temp rate limit upstream on the model(?), asking me to try later or add my own key to accumulate rate limits, and the other just gives me API 404s, asking me to change privacy settings for endpoints.
I didn't do anything to my settings before this, did something change that I missed?

Hey /wAIfu/. There is a couple of divegrass events looming on the horizon, so I wanted to ask if you are want us to participate in either. First one is /vt/ expo, which will be held on the same game the next VTL will be on (PES 21, as opposed to PES 16 that was used for the last couple of Leagues). For this, two teams that took part in VTL9 need to combine into one, with equal distribution of players. If this sounds interesting, pitch options for teams you'd like us to combine with. So far we've had suggestions to merge with /flip/ and /lia/ from the /swarm/ portion of the team.

The second is Divegrass Before Christmas. This one is not vtl-related and is just a meme Christmas tourney with various teams from other boards and whatnot. We have taken part in last year's DBC and even went out of groups. Though the stipulations allow for only 4 teams from each League, so if you want us to participate, we'll need to sign-up before other VTL teams who want to join in as well. Which is to say, our spot on the roster isn't guaranteed.

The fact that DBC and Expo will be held on different games (PES 17 and 21 respectively) isn't helping. But I'm willing to have /skynetFC/ play in both if there's interest.
