Looked back at it, it was daedis in the story I was thinking of but it was described as a silver eyed man instead so that kinda debunks. Although listening back to the stories and then the speech, I'm pretty sure it's not 1 god in particular doing all this. The obvious guesses are it was daedis or rheaos but the problem there is daedis is more water aligned so daughter of fire is odd there, but rheaos has been said to not speak so him giving a speech is out of his established character. Also to this the wind that brought them back to the other group and Stiorra is quite in line for edis, especially since edis is described as redirecting people but not saving them per say which makes sense since someone still died following that wind. I don't know if something from the original would help explain this but I'm unaware of what happened in the original as of now so I can't say.

I like what we've been told about rheaos fitting what we know about Eliza, for example in one of the stories it's "rheaos does not judge mistakes, he transforms them" which given Eliza seemingly "failed" something in the past and that's probably tied to a mistake it would fit nicely. I just don't think we have enough information to disregard the point about him not speaking, but I guess that's a question for arc 2. Also slightly unrelated but after looking at the creature a bunch, are it's heads... Eliza and Elliot? I might just be seeing a resemblance where it doesn't exist but they really look similar.

I was just about to post about this. Tom got a good look at silver creature and ooc he regonized it. It's not Eliza and Eliot, it's Baker and Carpenter couple from original Blackwell. I'm sure it was done intentionally, not just a model reuse. If I remember right, those 2 didn't survive, so now we see them here. First in monstrous form, then as a cleansed spirit. I'll check the vods for where they were seen last.
I don't think they're even connected to monologue Eliza got. It was coincidental. Gods noticed her moment of triumph and solidified her purpose, life mission, made her a champion - daughter of fire and ruin. From POVs I've seen thus far, only Eliza heard a special message.

I have no idea how they're gonna handle the start of arc 2, Eliza, coven cass and the doctor are like the only uninjured people and they have negative supplies at this point. They are in no state to go back in let alone try and rescue Guin but she really won't survive down there so who knows what they do. You know it's bad when even Tom barely escapes alive.

I think they'll do a short timeskip, like a week, maybe a month. A chance to readjust everyone's characters after all this traumatizing shit they've experienced. Plus some easy drama can be mined(heh) from coven girl or Bracken being frustrated that they're not going back immediately.
After the timeskip, they'll start preparation for operation rescue Guin right away.

As much as he was a prick about the operation, the adjudicator clearly was getting pressured to find something of value from the mines. Not only did he die they didn't find anything the people back in the city would care about so who knows how they're going to react and if they aren't happy then there goes the resources. Eliza is definitely going into a guilt arc trying to help the coven and Bracken, while also learning from Stiorra. Going to be real interesting to see how Branwen treats her, on one had she saved his sister on the other she damned his lover.
