Yeah, maybe they should have added another writer to help the Higurashi guy with the plot/themes of the game. Like, it feels at time like a Silent hill game, so it has potential moving forward

Probably would've been better off if it were a bit more walksimmy, I feel like it would've been a more interesting game if it leaned more into mood/visuals/sound rather than just spamming enemies that quickly become rote and forgettable. Though at least there's a bit more to the combat than just clunkily walking up to a monster and then stunlocking it until you step on its head.

Oh, to add to this, I think I just realized its biggest failing. It's relying on the combat to be scary, but it's so generous with checkpoints that there's no weight to dying at all, so it becomes completely unable to raise tension that way.

idk, she has a history of bouncing off of sections like these in games pretty hard. Doubtful dragging it out for another steam would've helped, if anything it's possible we would've ended up with a another soft-dropped game that way.

The gameplay takes a dive in the second half. Whether it's worth it depends on how much you like the writing and other parts of the game. Judging from Nina's reactions, she doesn't.

It had potential, but it dropped off so hard at the end. I legit fell asleep during the last boss fight. I kinda want to see the other endings, but we better move on to a better game
