Ok this actually works as long as I set 'Role' to 'User' instead of 'System', which is in line with how it was ignoring my JB but obeying direct orders.
Then I noticed that this option was also available on the JB prompts, and after changing it to 'User' too it now works as intended and I don't have to copypaste it on the notes field of every character either.
It even follows the "write at least X words" prompts to some extent, even if its count is far from accurate and it tends to write either more or less depending on how long the current chat is, but having multiple of them and switching around does give me some measure of control of its cooking and it's definitely more convenient than having to write or copypaste the same OOC messages.
Truly, Claude works in mysterious ways.
