yeah theres a lot of overlap with these kinds of games. i instantly knew what the game was doing when the little text popup "overwatch" came up during the enemies turns even though i've never played mechanicus but kiki kept getting surprised that they were allowed to shoot her on her turn because of it.
the casual setting is probably better for her in retrospect after looking at what it changes, it doesnt seem too much easier

im against it for many reasons, but specifically what i was saying is that the tax is not high enough to incentivize a change in behavior. it is cheap enough so poor people can buy it too. a pack of cigs here is $3.5 to $5 and the price rises in regular $0.1 increments so nobody would change their mind. i am talking about the implementation in my own country and that it very blatantly reveals the real incentive is for the government to get money and probably grift under the table even further with the cig companies.

the point is even if you identify a problem that doesn't mean anything you do to try and solve it is justified. this is how moral panic grifts happen. likewise with carbon credits, sure disincentivizing driving is good for the environment, but its real funny how the money goes into the government's pockets and they were the ones that came up with that idea.
