the way it's been done ever since camila is that con gifts are shipped/taken by the vtuber's manager or someone on their team that they trust. that person inspects each gift for trackers or dangerous items and then it's shipped from that person to the vtuber

Yeah, I don't know why some people are acting like accepting gifts is some insurmountable security issue. You get them checked first, and then forwarded from that person to the actual streamer.

I don't think this was policy or something on Twitch's part - I think it was probably just organizational incompetence by whoever was directing things at the con around the meet & greets (specifically the remote ones). Not a good look after the boneheaded security breach with Emiru.

But hey, what can you expect from one of the most valuable companies on earth really.
