I looked up the context for the Mei thing from a few days ago. It looks like, the reason for the Zen discord announcement regarding Ari is quite blatantly seen there.

Like Ari said, Zen and Ari hadn't been talking for almost exactly one month, then, after Mei finally got told by Ari that Ari is ghosting her because she's overstimulating Mei got upset and vented to Zen.

Zen then confronted Ari over it which can be seen from the fact that Ari removed her Zen-Ari emotes from her channel (this is happening several hours before Mouse's stream) (Yes it is known that despite what Ari said, Zen and Ari had a discussion beforehand for this same reason).

The outcome of the fight, presumably came to the situation that Zen insinuated in her stream where she cryptically talked about how she has shut out her then back in the day best friend for not going to her mother's funeral. Zen, still upset by this fact, as one reasonably is, begins to drink and after watching Mouse's stream, dips upon seeing the fact that she got Stalined out of Mouse's background. (Effectively a soft provocation in a very volatile time for all the Vshojo girls)

Zen then makes the Ari post in her drunken rage, only to have it backfire as the situation opens a giant can of worms and speculation, something that could, being someone hiding being a man, ruin her entire career. As such Zen backpedals, yet makes another shitty decision having been drunk for almost 24 hours straight at this point and has a drown the pain stream.

These theatrics force Ari to respond, making a 20 minute stream that while mostly true, also misleads in some regards by withholding some information. (Might I also say, while Zen is an idiot, she's at least not too stupid recognize that this couldn't be kept under wraps forever considering how close Zen and Ari were, compared to Ari who seems to have thought this could have been kept private (which frankly I don't think Ari is stupid either, so it's to me sympathy bait to act as if this was a breach of trust)).

A day before, Mei talked to Ari again. She says she made up with Ari (which is why I'm making this reply) and claimed that she had some good things, and one "really bad thing" that she had learnt during this time.

My bet, is that this "bad thing" was either the thing that Zen had done to create this entire situation, OR, it is that Zen sued the things that Mei had talked to her about in confidence against Ari during their fight. Whichever it is, the fact that Mei has seemingly forgiven Zen should say that this issue wasn't terrible enough to make her have problems with Zen.

(That said, another interesting detail is that Mei had a discussion in a VC with her community just a second before all of this where she seemingly didn't manage to keep as tight of a lip as she did in her discord chat. So theoretically whoever listened in on this VC might get have insight about the Ari-Mei situation and in turn about Zen-Ari.)

It’s just a list of the past complains with the added of Twitchcon, which do reflect on the company recently. I have seen a few Vtubers making that comment or joke of moving into another platform, and Zen is right on that, boycotting doesn’t really solve any issues for those who won’t do that.

Unlike YouTube, ad revenue isn’t so profitable. So viewership is just a negotiation point with sponsorships, stuff like average and retention are things that are brought up in how much are you getting from that deal. Even more so, what deals do you get. To say, a 1k isn’t getting the same offers as a 3k. They might look like they do because people tend to do the same gacha sponsors, but you don’t really know how many offers do they get in the back end.
