Funnily enough, her 1.0 artist is actually the one who rigged her 2.0 model. But yeah, I get not vibing with the new looks from the get go. We've been watching her almost everyday for close to three years by now, so we all have our own idea of what "Rowa" should be.
The model change is as pointless as it is controversial, but... it's just what it is. Personally, she doesn't feel like Rowa to me. Still, I believe I will get used to it after a couple of streams. I hope it's the same for you.

Hololive has built itself up as a self contained ecosystem where you don't have to look outside it in order to find something to watch. They operate at a level entirely different from small corpos, irrespective of the skill of the actual talents (ex that one small corpo vtuber that jumped ship mid contract is the same streamer as she during the couple month window but benefits from bigger reach)
Exposure is one of the biggest things for growth in a market that's as flooded as the streaming market is and so much of that relies on that one stream, that one clip, that one short that won the RNG lottery and got picked up by the algorithm
