I recall arguing with him about it in 8ch's staff channel, his concept was that if his engine just renders pages fast enough you won't need one. Well Josh it didn't work now, did it? The performance crashed during the public test due to CPU overloading, and since adding in a cache layer would apparently have been too hard all the money spent (like $50k) just went to waste. I won't say Josh was singlehandedly responsible for destroying 8ch, but he's a strong contributor.
