It was hard to watch, so id pet him to comfort him. We'd get a kitten at some point, but my older cat just wasn't in the mood for him. He'd try to avoid the kitten, and hopped out the window to go outside, where the kitten couldn't follow. One day the older one got hit by a car too, instantly died. I found him on that night it occured, but i was also babysitting my little brother and cousin. I had to deal with it with no parents, i was i think 10. I buried him, and just waited on the couch quietly for my dad and mom to come home eventually and tell them what happened. My kitten would wait by the window wondering where my older cat went. We stopped letting our cats outside after that.
