But to answer your question, the similarities are because both are Eurogames. Settlers of Catan is a lot more complicated than Seven Wonders. If they're playing Catan, we will likely only have one game.

EU5 just came out today, but £50 is a big ask for a game so I'm waiting til it goes on sale, it will probably have patches to iron out day 1 bugs by then anyway.

There's been a lot of videos released both from Paradox and from youtubers about it though and it is by far the most complex and detailed game pdx have ever made, by a huge margin. It's so different to EU4 that to call it a sequel is just wrong, they're really different games, they only share the time period (mostly - EU5 starts earlier). It feels more like a Victoria 2 successor than vic3 does.
