If I were to sympathize with the butthurt organizer, it's like a big thing she worked on, emotional investment, yada yada, but even so getting butthurt over someone else doing something similar *on the internet* is very petty.

I dunno who she is, some kind of small corpo(?) and also in that light considering the Ume SMP featured down to very small indies and micro-corpos it's also a bit like punching down and crybullying, if that whole blacklisting threat is real. It is more complicated with Katabasis. Kiki needs to consider not only herself but the group as a whole and the others in it. If any of them broke ranks it could hurt them all long term so they needed to all together make a choice none of them were happy with.

I do think some friction is caused by the chuubas who would've double-booked themselves to both servers when a reasonable thing would've been for they themselves to decide to join one or the other. Minecraft can be a pretty big time investment after all. And maybe issuing an ultimatum to those few to choose a server isn't in the realm of unreasonable yet but threatening people uninvolved with the other server definitely is over the line.

My eyesight got worse around third grade and I had to start wearing glasses, but then it stayed at that level my whole loif and didn't get worse again.
