I wonder why no Ayami model? I suppose neither of them have ever spoken about it. I got the impression that she would've been more than inclined to extend the offer of another model if Rica had asked for her services. I like her current one don't get me wrong, it's just that there would've been a nice lineage continuing on into the present, and it's not like there isn't precedent for this.

I'm on the side that's glad she didn't just do Mel 2.0. I get that they're close to their artists, but when one out of the six former talents are just 2.0 of their Hololive character it makes them seem like they're taking the easy way to try and get their audience back. Out of all the former talents, Rica and Shion have actual new designs that work for them. Even Delutaya who used her Hololive artist to update her old design looks different enough that you can't call her Aloe 2.0. Rica can get to a middle ground by having her current artist and Ayamy both update her current design. But having Ayamy just draw Rica doesn't work if you look at pic rel.

I was also in the boat that didn't want her to be Mel 2.0. The reason being is I followed Mikeneko for a year or so after she was fired and at multiple points I felt sad because she made moves that just felt like she was clinging on to being Rushia. I didn't want to see Rica do the same thing.
