In general, Doki's focus has been entirely on moving on and not extending anything, which is why she didn't actually address the black screen in any decisive way.
In the end, you weren't the one who was targeted by all of this. It was Doki, and she decided to forgive him and move on, so that's that.

Once they had to do 3D, Gamefreak couldn't hack it anymore. They've always been a trash tier dev but it didn't matter for the 2D sprite games. The more they're asked to do with the newer games, the worse the games get. That's why there's been a steady downwards trend from gen 6 onwards.
Sadly, it's infecting third party games too, becuase they can't do anything without gamefreak approval, so shit like mega starmie happens even when someone mildly more competent develops.

Gamefreak has been consistently pumping out fun non-pokemon games for years, and Legends Arceus was fantastic because they were allowed to go outside of TPC's formula.
