All "EN" clippers should be fucking killed, especially ones that aren't even EN but ESL SEAniggers who don't even know English. The only good EN clips are the ones translated to Japanese.

For JP clippers, avoid Sashimi and Osekkai, although they may have transferred over to making shitty clickbait EN clips full time. It's sad cause Osekkai actually used to be decent. There's also Iroha and Otakmori to avoid but they haven't been active in years.

Here's a bunch of channels who do EN clips but JP subs. This way it's less likely you're helping some SEAnig and JP fans learn more about EN and sometimes even JP Holos see something and then you get a cute interaction. They clip the majority of good moments too, not OOC clickbait shit.

There are very few decent ones. Those who simply clip the funny bits or translate them if they are JP. Any clip faggot that uses out-of-context thumbnails or only uses hentai crops gets instantly not recommended and blocked using an extension. Which is like 98% of the channels.

My general rule of thumb is that the clipper is locked onto one or two vtubers at a time. That's how you know they're genuine fans and they won't clip things out of context for drama points and numbers, even if they're ESL.

JShay and Maple Leaf Translations are the only good ones

Vtuberbits is the gold standard, dude does an amazing job often doing 30+ min long video with proper translation, adding context when need it and small edits to make it more fun yet not stupidly invasive, his work is outright amazing.

Then you have Murasaki Ringo who, while not as good and detailed, also does long and proper translations of content. Miuki also does very long translations and should be mentioned too since he has inproved a lot over the years. ADKch is a bit of a wildcard and I'm more or less sure he's SEA but I'll mention him because even though it has a lot of typos the long translations of rare content have value on their own.

Vtuber Zaibatsu used to be a powerhouse but he barely does shit nowadays, but he translated and compiled a lot over the years so he's more than worth a mention and definitely a good resource to check old content and have some good laughs.

The there's smaller ones like Jshay (great korone clipper), Ricky's TLs (Chihaya clipper), _dk's translations (spectacular Raden clipper), Sleepless clipper, Jihuu and a few others who clip a bit of everything and are mostly OK.

These are about the ones I can openly recommend, there's a few others that are getting there but... That's about it really, generally you always want to evade people who clip too much of everyone or only do short clips (less than 4 min), not to mention if they are overly edited or have awful grammar.

I'm not familiar with jerman long edits so I can't tell you for sure, but I'd say vtuberbits does fulfill that criteria because he certainly does take out a lot of fluff, he certainly optimizes the viewers time. His current project is the 2nd season of that zombie game Miosha likes so much and he also translated the first season fully so you can give it a watch for a good taste of his work, or any of his SMOK or NePoLaBo translations which are extremely fun and well done.

This is no way unique to Nimi, it's just the first time we see it in relation to something as serious as relationship status. The EN scene is a mess of clickbait and other garbage. Barely anyone worth following. Well, maybe sodafunk, and even that one uses a lot of clickbait.
However, the JP side is surprisingly different, and even channels that dabble in both have a higher chance of being much more tolerable.
Personally I sometimes watch Ameki Ch. and OBM translations, and sometimes Mochimiko, even if that one is more of an animation channel than a clip channel. Thanks for all the suggestions, anons.

My rule of thumb: When the video titles are either short descriptions of what's actually in the clip or something creative, as opposed to broken English or clickbait templates like "This vtuber BROKE chat when she said this!!!", the channel is at least worth checking out. It doesn't sound like much, but that cuts it down by like 95%

If you actually look through the thread all the clippers who are getting praise are the ones who translate JP streams. I think you have it backwards, English is the lingua franca so even if you're some dirt poor mud farmer in Nepal or some shit you can likely still watch EN streams and follow what is happening well enough. The need for translations or summaries is much more limited, so it's the clickbait shit that rises to the top. Meanwhile the audience for Japanese clips translated to English is much bigger (and also includes the aforementioned Nepalese mud farmer et al) so the cream that rises to the top is those who provide an actual service for EOPs.

tl;dr the guys who hate clippers are actually EN fans who are sick of the prevalence of dramafags amongst them

There is a single argument to be made for people who add subtitles to EN clips, and that's for people who don't speak english well and use it as a resource to practice.

They are at least 1 tier higher than people who just cut and post. (unless humor is provided through multiple POVs)
