This is partially due to mounting concerns of merch announcements consuming the news, and partially due to reporting redundancies. Vtuber events (which should already being reported) almost always have merch tied to them, and any particularly novel merch (such as the ovulated egg in breast milk keychain) will be reported on independently due to its newsworthy nature. Mentions of merch will also be omitted from stories where the merch is tied to an event that the merch is not the core aspect of the story. Merch collabs, seasonal merch, and standalone merch drops will still be included as they have been.
