Channel hijacks like these don't happen because of leaked passwords. Cover almost certainly have 2FA set up on every account (and they're absolutely retarded if they don't). It's malware that steals your cookie that keeps you logged on, so they bypass the login process completely. They get access to the account by the same verification that you do when you turn your PC back on and open your browser.

Youtube recently pulled a massive account ban wave because their AI is incredibly retarded and they are so understaffed that they can't and won't care about replies since most nuked channels are literally whos.
Moderation, support and reviews are done by the same AI, so it's an endless "fuck you" loop. The only way that they would listen is if a lot of money is involved.
ID might be the lowest money-making branch. But it could affect their relationship with holo (a moneymaking corpo) since it isn't the first time it happens.
She should be back soon because this actually messes with YT investors and stockholders.
Maybe that move to twitch holo keeps on hyping up maybe is a bit more serious people thought.
Twitch is also a shitty option, but at least it's easier to reach human staff there.

True, but since the staff is mostly human, they don't care about vtubers, positively or negatively (unless they make a lot of money). That's still a better alternative than playing russian roulette with the AI, hoping it doesn't randomly nuke a channel and having to deal with said AI on endless moderation/review loops.
There are no good options. But youtube has been recently shooting themselves in the both feet and legs so often, that they somehow managed to make twitch look like a reasonable alternative. Fucking twitch, the site with the grooming staff, a CEO that keeps acting like a washed up rockstar while never caring about twitch at all or even knowing its own rules, that has a yearly con known to have a dashcon-tier organization and some of the worst viewing communities. Somehow, Youtube managed to play so down to competition that now that sounds like an attractive option.

This is true in general but they would make a special set secret rules for hololive if cover signed an exclusivity agreement with them, and we would never see any holo girls moderated for any reason ever. Compared to the more controversial streamers on twitch (Asmongold, Hasan, Vtubers and egirls making borderline softcore pornography etc.) Hololive is like the fucking disney channel: Squeaky clean, family friendly, corporate. Twitch would have zero problems accommodating them exactly as they are right now. Twitch famously gives preferential treatment to their big streamers, and that is what Cover is looking for from a platform, and why shouldn't they? If JeetTube wants to jerk them around and treat them like a 100K sub indie channel I don't blame them for kicking the tires on a twitch deal, even if I personally prefer youtube as a platform.
