Millau Viaduct is probably the most beautiful bridge ever built

Fuck, bruv, wait a minute—the tiny, albeit very cute, bridge you posted is OC? I.e., you made it yourself?!

Yes, upon looking at the filename, I've now realized, Anon, that that creation is indeed your own. I would like to profusely apologize for my earlier ridicule of yours. It's just that I got carried away a bit—seeing such a small creation amidst all the mighty steel giants being posted, I thought you had posted a small bridge as a form of bathos.

Once again, sorry. I now have a newfound sense of admiration for your creation. While we sit on our bums all day posting 1s and 0s, you took it upon yourself—a man of action—to create something actually useful. God bless you. One last thing, how did you come u with the plan, measurements, etc.

LOL yeah I made it.

No need to apologies I get the context you were laughing at. I was just looking for an an actual opinion since everyone I built it for is never honest.

It is actually an equestrian Bridge but it is built to hold weigh more than a horse about 10,000 lb +. I was very limited by budget and had to bring material deep into the woods, so I worked with what I had. That is why the railing is just raw birch wood. I made the railing a fake kind of suspension because I wanted to do something unique all of the other bridges on this system are just straight rails. The main supports are 10x10 PT custom cup Douglas fir beams.

one of these days when I get a bigger budget I'm actually going to build an arch bridge. I came here for ideas.

I was about to send this thread to my architect friend but then I remembered he is an architect and not a civil engineer.

You want honesty?
The deck looks professional, the handrails look like you helped a child build it, like when you bake a cake a then let a child decorate it.
You don't need to be ashamed, it's quaint.
I assume the handrail isn't strong enough to stop a naughty horse anyway so if want to make it look a bit more like a suspension bridge replace the cross beams with rope.
