I mean obviously you can improve what you start with but singing is one of those things were you either have the "spark" for it or you don't, and the end result for someone who tries to pick it up but doesn't have the innate gift for it is not really going to be satisfying it their expecting themselves to sound particularly musical.
I don't say this to undermine anybody for learning something new, learning how to sing brown eyed girl at a barbecue is very achievable, but expecting yourself to sound like anyone in this thread if you weren't born with the talent is just asking for serious disappointment.
