I know lightning striking nearby and the resulting thunder can cause internal organ damage though, even if the source of the sound is still a few hundred feet up in the air in Godzilla's case it should cause some damage at least to anyone nearby. Now that you mention it, how many of the movies have showcased windows shattering from any of the monsters' roars?
As an aside the only "source" I can see on listed noise for his roar is "174dB", but that seems weird that he'd make quieter sounds than blue whales which are way smaller in those films. Gotta be some bogus made up number, and if that's "official" that seems even more ridiculous, on par with the "T-Rexes have bad vision, don't move!" shit from JP.
