it's kind of lame now, given all that korn stands for and what happened to the industrial scene after they came out, but when this album first came out, a legend was born practically overnight.
then their 2nd album hit. nothing like the 1st. maybe 1 or 2 ok songs. then the 3rd album. 0 good songs.
then they kept going with the made-for-mtv-and-clearchannel-radio slop.
i don't even see them as a good band that sold out (e.g., metallica). i see them as a shitty band that got lucky and rolled 11 on the first try and then shit the bed consistently every time after that.
