I kind of can't believe it, but goddamn, Shinichirล Watanabe finally made a bad show. The characters are bland and uninteresting, there's so many like intentionally 'emotional' moments except they're all about these side characters that have only existed for ten minutes and there's such a lack of weight that it's farcical, the plot is completely nonsense and full of 'twists' that are either stupidly obvious from the get or completely random bullshit to prolong the story, and (english dub specific ofc) the voice acting is shockingly bad at points, like it's still professional, it's not like the comically bad voice acting that nakeyjakey made a video on, it's just so....uninspired? the voices don't match the characters half the time and when they do it's just...like it's not the overexaggerated anime dub voices, it's the exact opposite. nobody has any real emotion. and just...all of this was supported by a really interesting concept. watanabe's shows always have a neat concept, and this one seemed like a really cool one. but as the plot develops, it takes five seconds of actually thinking about it to realize how bad the concept is. i'm disappointed by the show but even moreso i'm annoyed that i didn't expect it.
