>>5913757Let me take a step back and give some context, since there are a few related questions and posts earlier in the thread.
>>5895228 the concept of martial arts as we understand it today, didn't exist in the ancient world. What existed were military formations and combat techniques. The place now known as India is the origin of one of humanities first high cultures, where first military strategies and techniques were devoloped. Nowadays few people still practice some of their techniques.
>>5904976 anon named them. But it is a shadow from those times, they just try to keep some of the techniques alive.
Kung fu officially devoloped from techniques brought from India and if the old hong kong movies didn't exist, you would ask the same question about chinese martial arts.
To get back to nunchakus, most nowadays known chinese martial arts developed during manchurian occupation. They banned weapon ownership for the general population, so people figured out a way to use common objects as weapons to protect themselve. A nunchaku for example was a farming tool used to separate grains from their husk.
So no wonder you think it is a shit weapon because it is a shit weapon. Some farmers just figured out how to protect themselve with their tools and nowadays some people are exagerating the techniques to get some likes on social media.
