That was when I'd just broke off a long term, abusive relationship. I would just go to work and when I came home there she was, absolutely incensed.

At first it wasn't so bad. Bickering, snide remarks and whinging. She would accuse me of being somebody else when I walked in. But it got worse

One morning I woke up in Native American garb with face paint. Then again, in a purple velvet jacket and top hat. She would accuse me of hiring little men to take her possessions and hide them throughout our home.

She started hitting me shortly after, but that wasn't the worst of it. I filed for divorce, and after coming home from the lawyers office I found she had shot on our marital bed. Thank God Amber had that shitty legal team.

Remember, the show is about making Penn and Teller not realize what the integral part of the trick is. If the chips bag is a decoy and they just mention the chips bag once, it's over, the candidate fooled them.

But you can see his arm is doing something underneath the table, even though he literally shows said arm moments after.
The entire act is made to fool actual magicians, the kitkat in his pocket he pulled out near the beginning looks like a second deck of cards for example.
In the last clip he obviously palmed a card and held it to his face, which is why Penn laughed when he showed the hand was actually empty.

I thought I was following along pretty well when I first watched it, and then the orange reveal happened and I was blown away. Then I watched the see through cups video and I just don't know how he did the melon trick. This guy is fantastic. Felt like he intentionally made it reasonably easy to follow only to hit you at the end with something insane.

I saw comments saying you do NOT want to show the cards face up. I think he swaps the deck at some point to add a bunch of cards he's scribbled on. Compare the cards from clip 1 and 3, they look slightly different to me. No matter what card you pick, you're giving him the "right" card.

I dont fully agree
that is just the surface level premise
but it is not that simple either or everybody could throw in a bunch 50/50 red herrings and fool them

the fool/no fool is just the vehicle they use to let people perform their tricks on the show so that they have something to build TV around
whether they actually "win" or not is completely secondary to whether their act was good
