No, tech increases. Well its stagnated now as mores law is dead but tech moves forward and the PS1 era low poly wasnt a timeless artstyle like sprite art for example, it was just tech limitations.
PS2 emotion engine was a unique style. PS4 gen is the tech at its peak. Games will barely look any better than that for decades now.

Objectively, they absolutely should have, but I also don't really care about it. The new jobs are all late game and broken, specifically because they're designed to help you tackle the bonus dungeon, which isn't really anything special. The only compelling concept was getting to actually fight the warlock Enuo who gets name-dropped a bunch toward the end of the game.

If they ever do another remake/remaster, I'd love for them to do new postgame content that really builds him up, instead of him just being a NEET hiding in his room.

I wish FF6 had been hard enough that evade actually mattered—one of my favorite things in 5 was abusing the shit out of the main gauche/elf cape combo for most of the game, especially on characters with shield. Plus there was that Samurai passive ability that gave you a flat 25% chance to evade physicals, automatically. Man, FF5 is so fun.
