Some dork decided to encode in vp9 10-bit, which is for HDR and I doubt the source is HDR. Some people think it's more efficient than 8-bit vp9 but this is a myth.

What does it matter? 10bit is not for HDR, you can have 10bit without it. You should be still able to play it. It work for me with MPV.

Yes it is, the 10-bit colorspace literally is HDR. And it matters because there are compatibility issues with a lot of software/hardware. Anon asked why it doesn't work for him, that's why.
