As the defending elite champions, /wsg/ looked to defend their title in their brand new stadium, Synthwave Sunset Stadium. The rigger drew /biz/, /r9k/, and /tv/ to face off against /wsg/ in the group stage. /wsg/ kicked off Winter with a dominant 4-0 win to send the stocks of /biz/ plummeting. With their non-loss streak at 9, /wsg/ looked to face off against the incels of /r9k/. The good fortune seemed to run out as a couple of spaghetti moments led to /wsg/'s fall in a 1-2 loss as well as the end of the streak. With promotion now in question, an away match against /tv/ seemed much more concerning. Despite falling down 1-0, You Should Kill Yourself... Now! was able to follow up a deflected Gondola shot and find his first goal of the cup in the dying minutes. A 1-1 draw against the fa/tv/irgins was enough to promote /wsg/ for the 6th time in a row and send the lads into the knockouts.

As the unseeded team, /wsg/ drew concerns regarding their ability to defend their championship. The round of 16 would feature a grudge match against /sp/. Following a spectacular comeback against /o/ in the group stage to confirm their advancement, /sp/ had not forgotten the quarterfinal that saw /wsg/ advance on a 2 goal victory. Although /wsg/ was looking to repeat their victory from Summer 2024, the /sp/artans were more than ready as they jumped out to a 3-0 lead at the half. A 2nd-half Gondola goal was not enough to stop /sp/ from comfortably slowing the game down, and /wsg/ fell in a 2-goal loss. While many blame championship hangover for the pedestrian 1GD performance with an exit in the Round of 16, /wsg/'s management was mostly happy to put on a good show in their first time ever hosting a cup. /wsg/ looks forward to Summer 2025 unburdened by hosting duties with the desire to regain the title.

My opinions on the current roster:
To Be Continued - Despite being an outdated meme, TBC stepped up to fill the empty GK position. TBC is the first player on the team to play in the outfield and in the net.
Obligatory 9/11 Thread - We did it we recruited the actual twin towers to play for the team and they definitely made an impact on the team, saving our championship run. Keep.
Man-Made Horrors Beyond Your Comprehension - Basically a blanket rep for any War/Creepy/Uncanny, the current uncanny Mr. Incredible model for this player sure is... incredible. Keep.
Sensible Chuckle - The classic gif used all across 4chan to display mild enjoyment and appreciation of other anons posts, another claim we've staked and maintained for almost as long as the team has been a thing. Keep.
MULTI-TRACK LISTENING - Not really much to say about this player but I believe it's one of the only original memes of /wsg/ on the team, which is probably why you guys vote it so high, also who doesn't like eurobeat? Promote to silver.
Did He Died? - To this day it's still a classic reply to ANY rekt image be it a puppy falling over or actual fucking gore, this is prime 4chan real estate that we've reclaimed and I hope we can keep it that way. Promote to silver.
Duane - After his silver medal tenure surpassed his gold tenure, he would lose his medal position altogether, personally I think Duane should stay out of the limelight and let other more interesting memes be the stars of the team.
Chinese Steel Worker - Somehow survives the worksite only to be killed by a rogue truck tire while on break. Keep as silver.
You Should Kill Yourself… Now! - If LTG's momentum continues he may ascend to gold medal status, I MEAN THAT WITH 100%, WITH 1000%!
Gondola - /int/ has finally allowed us to share him within concurrent cups since we gave our Gondola a comfy pom-pom hat and scarf, keep as some sort of medal, currently a gold.
Ricardo Milos - Our captain, still widely posted. Keep as gold.

Hi lads. The song BIGWAVE - Emotional Prism was a suggestion to be a part of the music export. I believe the person intended for it to be used as a victory anthem of sorts. What are your thoughts on it? In my opinion, I really do like that span of music from 0:20-1:00 because it's the audio used in that one template. Also, I think it's the same audio used in Boys' Locker Room

Wew lad! A 2-0 victory over /an/ is a solid way to start off this summer campaign! While the match may not have shown it, /an/'s front 3 are one of the scarier setups you can come across in this cup and any one of them can pop off on any given moment. GG to them, and I have a nagging feeling like they might find a way out of this hole. On a bit of a personal note, this win means a lot to me because my first loss ever was to /an/ in the Summer '23 cup back when I was just testing. That was such a shitty feeling and I've been waiting a while for an opportunity to try our luck against them again.

After many KAPOWS and a late equaliser, it was Gondola who saved us with a goal late into extra time! A 2-1 win sees us advancing on 6 points, together with a strong /his/ who topped the group on 9 points!

Wew. That'll wrap up our season. /biz/ held their bags and they must have held all of them in front of the fucking net because wow that defense was fantastic. Well played to /biz/, and hope you guys can go on a run! In 2024 we were first and third place, but here in 2025 we find ourselves getting put away in the round of 16 twice. It's definitely humbling, but we're determined to get [wsg] back to the top of mountain once more. We'll get to work on pes15 soon. Thank you all for your support!
