You can make a real mess when you can dress like everyone else, conceal a rifle in your robes, shoot anything in a uniform with no regard to rules of engagement, have no surveillance infrastructure to worry about, and most importantly, have just about every local telling you where the enemy is and where your best chance of getting away with it would be and then happily pretend they never saw you.
If you don't have all that shit you're never getting that far. Might have even taken several men to get that far.
