why can you no matter how hard you try physically and mentally reach the nostalgia? why cant things now feel as good as that moment? i can look at an image of the old internet but i cant go back there because it no longer exists.

You know half of this place is in their 30's right. Not everyone is a child like you. We didn't see it online, we actually were there when all these subcultures were a thing. Sure they were cringe but that's just being young and that's ok.
Although I was never in the "emo scene" myself, I defenitely thought they were hot and fapped away, so yes seeing thel back brings nostalgia, what this thread is about.

this one was really boring and i never finished it. also sponsored by timex (?) or some other gay sports watch thing.

played them as they came out:
1 - on saturn. classic.
2 - on pc. really good, them creepy underwater levels, oil rig vibes, wierd chinese floaty men on those other levels... yeah cool.
3 - on pc. i know it got hate at the time but i enjoyed it.
chronicles - on pc. was entertaining.
last revelation - on pc. no. you're just in the same boring theme all the time hence why i didn't finish.
angel of darkness - on pc. lol what an experimental shitshow. still played it till the end.

then there were some anniversary things or whatever (pc - can you sense a pattern), can't remember the names of them but damn lara was fit in those. think i even got some nude mods.
never played any of the nu-raiders where she's young or whatever so i can't comment on those.

that babby is somewhat correct but clearly hasn't learnt nuance yet.
you can be many things at many times. you can be in the present yet still have fond memories to look back on.
what's the problem if i 'member cool shit from the 80's/90's? i can't help having those memories but i don't dwell on them, you just remember and carry on. old friends, gfs, etc, relationships or whatever that had their alotted time like ships passing in the night. doesn't mean i want to live in those decades again - they had their own problems - but it's fun to remember cool stuff as it is fun to experience new stuff and meet new people.
you can't avoid memories but you don't dwell on them and get all depressed or whatever as this vid implies.

tldr: stfu preachy babby

I've got a lot of fond memories of [as] when I was a kid. There was something so special about staying up late, reading and listening to the bumps, watching cartoons and anime that I had never experienced, etc. It felt like it was a hideout for all the people who lived in the midnight hours, different from the rest of the world. Made me forgot about all the problems that daytime brought me.

No, it's not just flat and minimalism. It is that technology has not helped us as much as we thought, it has trapped us. We didn't want mass surviellance, we didn't want absolute degradation of morality and full-on decadence, we didn't want us being replaced through AI, we didn't want lack of purpose in life thanks to over-consumption, controlling our lives and forgetting life.
All which has been brought through technology by malicious hands.

But he's more welcome here than I am just because he happened to find the site first, probably through an older sibling or something. I know for a fact he contributes little, because he can't spell properly, which becomes a huge stumbling block if you're trying to have a lengthy back and forth with someone else. >I was happy and excited to see how the world benefits because 'wow an actual patriot'
>I learned about the world and how it actually works
>I kept learning about the way things work and who influences what and why
>These manmade horrors are completely within my comprehension now
>Nothing surprises me anymore, not even the beyond parody things
>Caught myself getting happy again when Trump ran last year
>Got the same feelings I did in 2016, felt a little of the same when he won
>Go back over what I've learned, nothing will change and it's a complete stage play

>The fact that MCR and countless other emo/alt bands from the 2000s have all gained new found fame should be enough to prove this to your retarded ass.
>gained new found fame
It has been resuracted, not "still alive". It was completely dead from 2014 to 2019-2020. Mostly because a lot of these mainstream emo/nu-metal/hardcore punk bands disbanded at the same time in early 2010's. Either they explored all the possibilities of their genre, or became popular with the help of the industry, that didn't want them anymore.

I talked to my wife about this and the mindset frightens her. Any oldfag who's used this site since the 2000s has obviously been exposed to a lot of the deep web secrets, and many times we learned of the conspiracies and puppet masters before it reached main stream.

When I reveal some of the impossible-to-deny proof behind world wars, sandy hook, 9/11, US propaganda, she agrees with it but says it's depressing to view life that way because you can never see it the same way ever again. So for now I allow her to live innocently free so that we don't corrupt our children, and I bear the load of knowing the REAL truth and influence of what we are being distributed. It's a good balance until our kids are adults.

Does the argument that this is what's it's like for every generation have legs? I feel like everything really is soulless today. Stagnation, minimum viable product, endless subscriptions, meaningless entertainment made only to tick boxes. Few things are being created to push boundaries, to bring genuine enjoyment to others, or just for fun. Now, everything must adhere to efficiency, accessibility, sensibilities, profitability, etc. It really feels like to me the world ended around 2008.

maybe it was actually around 11.9.2001 when everyone got sucked into another matrix via the collective ritual bombings (not planes) that we were all forced to witness via the demonic black scrying mirror emf thingies we call "tv"

You can still watch the original video on youtube with annotations. Youtube never fully removed annotations, they are just hidden behind a flag that can be activated by a browser extension. I had a vaio with a TV tuner in it back in like 2006. Recorded entire seasons, movies, and it had great scrubbing too. My parents left it in my room but I ended up watching something with some type of moaning or shit like that and they ran in and moved it to the guest room the next day. To be fair I DID spend a lot of time on the newgrounds mature section back then too, they probably knew.
