I just meant like, is it all depressing stuff all the time or is there more to it? For example, Made in Abyss gets flak for having a lot of pain and suffering, but there's still fun adventure and world building/lore. It's not all just the characters being subjected to horrible things.

Not sure if this is the right place to ask, but anyone has a complete chiikawa torrent? So far I grabbed this https://www.dailymotion.com/playlist/x9j5eo with yt-dlp, but video quality is all over the place. Nyaa only has episodes up to 120 translated, too

This particular rendition is from Peggy Hayama back in 1964. It was often featured on NHK's "Minna no Uta" program, so it seems to be fairly well-known. A popular kids song, that they might sing in preschool or something. Here's a children's chorus singing it.

The ジョリジョリジョリ isn't "jolly jolly jolly", but "jolie jolie jolie", as in the French word for beautiful or lovely. That's because... the original song is actually from 1959, by Frenchman Bourvil.

It's funny that the Japanese made it into a daytime children's song about "yummy healthy fruit salad", because if you listen to the original French lyrics, I think he's singing about a different sort of plump fruit...
