I haven't updated my knowledge on them, but at least 5 years ago It was something like:
1. No short-barreled (pistols/SMGs) unless you're a government watch dog/politician with ties/professional sports shooter.
2. No autho weapons, minimum barrel limit.
3. Can buy guns only for hunting/sports.
4. Need to register everything with local police officer/FSP, have a safe.
5. Need paperwork that says you're not a druggie/schizo to acquire license.
6. Can buy guns with rifled barrel only after 5 years of owning a smooth-barreled one.
7. Can only have up to 5 smooth-barreled and 5 rifle-barreled firearms.
8. Can't buy ammo legally unless you have all the paperwork (and only the caliber of the gun(s) you own)
9. Also I think you need to check up with authorities regularly.
There's also a market for nono-lethal travmat pistols, which are basically regular pistols with a lump inside the barrel that prevents anything but specialized rubber ammo from being fired. It also requires permits and paperwork.
