For those that never played Guilty Gear Xrd before:
Whenever 2 attacks clash with each other, there's a small chance of triggering a [DANGER TIME]
During [DANGER TIME] all damage and hitstun are massively increased, which can lead to some hilarious moments
I fucking love this mechanic

It's a complex trick. Balrog (or Boxer if you prefer) has a move called Turn-Around Punch or TAP. He uses it by holding down two buttons for a while, then releasing them, at which point the move comes out. TAP gets stronger the longer you hold it, with it getting extremely strong after 40 seconds(?). So this particular player entered the game holding down Medium Punch, Hard Punch, Medium Kick, Hard Kick. You can tell it's those four because he's able to tech throws, which requires pressing Light Punch and Light Kick simultaneously, so he couldn't tech throws and hold TAP on those buttons simultaneously.

So he sits there and waits, blocking and teching throws, until TAP is fully charged. He then releases Hard Punch and Hard Kick to get the first TAP, while charging that uppercut maneuver I forget the name of, then hits that, which allows him to combo into V-Trigger (done by pressing Hard Punch and Hard Kick simultaneously), which allows him to combo into the second TAP, which kills.

I'm sorry man but he looks like a reject from a knock-off space adventure movie in every game before Strive. Nice ponytail faggot, does your boyfriend pull it when he fucks you?

I'm glad he just got some regular ass pants and a cool cape for Strive.

It's an unironic bot guessing right on strike/throw 30 times in a row by reading inputs while it sits there charging its touch of death combo for a literal minute. In SF4 and 5 there was a guy who ran a bot in ranked and would have like thousand game winstreaks. No one really minded because it was blatant and fun to play against but cuckcom banned him anyway I think. A totally different thing to cheaters who act like normal players but use input macros or scripts to auto-react to things.

This is still one of the best top 8's of the Tekken tournaments I have seen. It's not just this one round, but there were some really fun moments throughout and the final match was quite ridiculous.

Why does SF have to be the most popular one? Do people like getting sent into a rage by throwloops?

>most popular
Only in Japan, and their brains are still scrambled from 1945. In the rest of the world Smash and Brawlhalla and probably even Tekken are more popular.

In SFV it is super hard to get out of silver/gold because of PC bots.
You do shit like fight a jumping ken and win, then a bot that reads your inputs and lose more points than you gain.
You have to actually put effort into gaming the system because of the bots.
I could only get out by turning PC players off.
Looking at that YT you posted I dint actually realize there was also bots at the high end game too.
I assumed that by late plat to diamond that input reading bots would no longer be ab,e to beat people as its essentially the CPU.

I will also point out that it looks like it was when balrog was OP as well, when he released he was broken with too much damage and TAP was super OP because of it.

SF is the archetype game it is the game that created the genre so even fighting game devs look to it for the barometer of what fighting games are,

It used to be but SF6 is literally just Japan. Like 90%+ of the global players are japanese. When they announced Capcom Cup was PPV they didn't even bother listing the prices in anything but yen.

>announced Capcom Cup was PPV
It is the capcom cup IN japan, so of course it is gonna be priced in their currency.
you look at SF6 and it is catered to the american audience.
Hip hop shit, simple inputs. got a negro tranny in it and they got hip hip negroes and american trannys to shill the game on launch...You think its only a japanese game!
You only have to look at the sales figures to see it isnt a japanese only game.

From the wiki:
>Street Fighter 6 sold over 1 million units within five days after launch.[65] By June 2025, sales had surpassed 5 million units.[66]

>In Japan, the PlayStation 5 version of Street Fighter 6 was the third highest selling physical game during its first week of release, with 21,192 retail units being sold across the country. The PlayStation 4 version was the fourth highest selling physical game in Japan throughout the same week, selling 12,078 retail units.[67] It was the 17th best-selling video game in the US in 2023.[68]

So it sole 1 mil in a week and only 35k of that was in japan
Sounds like a japanese only game to me too. They made it only for 35k japanese players...

You are a dingus, pulling BS out your ass.
One would assume seeing USA is a large country that sales from individual countries the USA is where the bulk of the sales come from.
SF is incredibly popular in USA and UK.
I play the game often and NA BH servers are always active where EU servers generally only have 1 or 2 active. Japan has 3 on an average day where NA has 9-10 active pretty much every day. Though of course USA also has different time zones from east to west so that would be why they are active more than EU and japan.

Why would that matter for an internet livestream advertised on an english language twitter account and why do you think they permanently moved it to Japan after it was in California for a decade?

https://steamcharts.com/app/1364780
During release the graph was remarkably stable all day, with american hours sometimes even (barely) beating japan hours. Then the worldwide audience collapsed and today the player count drops 80-85% when japan goes to sleep.

I am saying your logic is flawed and that showing steam numbers for a game that is mainly played on console is foolish.
Your logic is completely flawed anyway and you can check it yourself by going into the game on the battle hub at peak USA,EU and japan times and seeing how big the player base for the games are and you will see like I mentioned above that USA/NA servers are the largest and more active.

>hard data
its not hard data is it.
By that logic only 70k players play SF6, a game that sold 6 million.
Where are the other 5.9 million players?
Retard.

Had some retard on /v/ once trying to explain tekken 7, a franchise that is predominately a playstation game, a game that sold 7 million at the time and only had max 70k players on steam is a PC game and most players are on PC.
Rterad
It is the same with SF6. FGC games ARE console games.
There is some exceptions like GG, skull girlz and now 2KXO where PC has a bigger playerbase but pretty much every fighting game is mainly played on console. Online and local. Even pro tourneys etc are all played on consoles.
So tell us again how steam charts for a game is hard data?
Even with the steam charts the max amount of players are on at.............00:00 in japan.
Are you retarded by any chance?
