While this seems funny, the dog is in a dilemma as it doesn't know how to properly react. It's not pleasant. I wasn't aware of that myself until I read about it.

He's just well trained. My dog does that because he has a bark reflex but isn't allowed to bark indoors. I just let him out and he lets loose like a little demon. Same as holding a poop until you get outside.
