I am a pc gamer for now but I bought a PS3 last year and I loved it a lot, made me play a lot a lot more. I only play with controller. I homebrewed it because I mostly just played games I already own on Steam, so rebuilding my library for a console does not sound enticing.

The controller broke and they're hard as fuck to find. Xbox seems to be on the path to allow you to play steam games inside it but I heard that last year even.

What do you guys recommend?

I should add that the best part of the console for me is a locked down UI really. Makes it easier to separate work from gaming

PS3 games seem to be slightly cheaper compared to 360 from my experience. They are less wanted and have a lower premium
I reccomend you try playing Infamous 1&2, Killzone 2&3, Ratchet & Clank Trilogy, Uncharted trilogy, The Last of Us, God of War 3 & Ascension

Ok, if you can't even tell me how it's fucked, you probably don't have the skill to fold a up some random paper to fix the connector. Because that's the likely problem/solution from someone opening/closing it without knowing what's wrong

You can use a PS4 controller in a PS3 but dualshock 3 controllers aren't that super hard to find. You can also use a knockoff.
