It happens all the time. I might be a social wimp. Whenever I try to stand up for myself or be serious it turns out to be laughable and "cute". Meanwhile there are people who can shut the others up by merely lowering their tone of voice and nobody dares to say a word to them. How can I be like that?

If I to do that I "talk back" as if the person speaking to me automatically has the upper hand and verbally dominates me. I am always "in the wrong" (even if I am right) and I am always "the lesser one" whenever there is a clash of interests between me and the other party.

- How can I avoid this? (being verbally dominated)? Over the years I've learned some techniques, but they aren't, even remotely always, enough
- How can I make other people side with me?

You shouldn't be a faggot OP and feeling like you're too good for /adv/ is telling.

Anyways, I can seriously relate to you. I'm short and have always felt what you explain to feel. I doubt you'll get or pick up what I'm saying just by me saying it here. Takes more than one thread to mold a person into something they aren't, but I'll give you some tips that I just ended up perfecting over the years.

-If someone pisses you off to the point you believe something needs to be said to them that's the point where you stay silent. When I do that, it always ends in them shutting the fuck up because they know they crossed a line and need to tone it down unless they want to get cursed out or something and they sense this and just tell themselves to shut the fuck up.

-Stop hanging around people who do that to you. If someone pisses me off even once, that's it. We're done. Best I can do is walk past them and not say anything to them. No greeting, nothing. If they're fucking with you, you must be giving them opportunities.

Just get up and walk away if in person. Doesn't matter where it is. Just fucking leave and don't say a word or look at them, that's the kicker. They don't know what they did and you just leave them hanging. On the phone say excuse me but you keep cutting me off and that's rude.

Oh and get better friends. Those that dominate without asking your opinion or cutting you down are insecure narcissists and they are alone inside. Avoid them at all costs. They only care about themselves and not you or your friendship and will suck you dry mentally and emotionally.

Unfortunately the entire world has these assholes in droves. So my advice to you is to learn how to physically defend yourself if need be, observe and take notes too. Write shit down if need be or activate your voice recorder on your phone to trap them. Get good at using what the assholes do against them in blackmail situations.

Never go into your bosses office without a voice recorder activated, ever. Or fight with an ex. Because you're gonna need proof and when they spill their guts, you have a copy of it when they try and fuck you out of money.

If you're a dude you have to get buff. Also heavy eye contact is essential when trying to dominate someone.
