Win 10 PC seems to slow UNTIL I open Task Manager to see whats up.

Some fag on reddit said it was a miner or something that closes once Task Manager is opened, which was kinda my first thoughts.
Haven't had issues like this in years.

Any way I should go about this? Any Task Manager alternatives that could spot it? Or maybe it's just something else completely?

Full reinstall.
Do not create bootable media using the infected operating system as it could spread to it.
Also do not insert a clean bootable media while the infected OS is booted. Make sure to press the correct key to enter BIOS on time.

I would recommend SysInternals Process Explorer for this.

Thanks. I'll scope things out before doing anything drastic.

Drastic is having massive malware and thinking you snooping around with some process explorer is a realistic fix.

Do you have some delusion that it's impossible to detect and remove malware?
>massive malware
Hyperbole much?

Modern malware is often pervasive and hard to remove by hand. Tends to copy itself in other places and restore itself, not to mention there's no guarantee performance is the only thing it steals from you.
I would be way more alarmed at my system being compromised and would want to take a surefire solution, but each to his own.

I restarted after Chkdsk'n, Sfc'n, restorehealth etc, and it didn't happen again, but we'll see next time I full boot up, likely tomorrow.

We'll see. I don't have too much important crap on my PC surprisingly. I pretend it's a like lil tapeworm for now lol.

Were you running Brave at the times you had these issues? I've personally seen this happen multiple times, on different operating systems, and uninstalling Brave resolved the crypto miner issue everytime
Can't usually say this on 4chan though, the Brave defense force is strong here

I swapped to FireFucks not too long ago after sunk-costing with Chrome for so long, but this was like a month or two ago.

Kinda my thoughts. I do think it's related to FireCocks. Might also be a shitty extension or shady script methinks.

You really should just go bach to Firefox instead of using some weird fork then.

Brave works fine for me, Cromite is another alternative. I may move to Orion when it drops on Linux.
